2011 District Championship Singles

Congratulations to Yvonne Taylor of Algester for winning the District Singles.
The final between Yvonne Taylor and Lesley Behnke was an entertaining game which seesawed throughout with Yvonne Taylor winning 25-22.
Over the three days onlookers witnessed some very closely fought battles. Well done to Yvonne, Lesley and to all players who participated.

2011 District Championship Triples

This event was finalised on Wednesday, 8th June at Jindalee Bowls Club.  Congratulations to the winning team of Marilyn Kelly, Bev Formby, and Jenni Woods of Jindalee (27-26). Runners-up were Pam Botterill, Maureen Breingan and Marion Daily.

2011 District Championship Pairs:

Congratulation to the winners of the Ladies District Pairs Championship, Maureen Breingan and Pam Botterill (Algester), who defeated Mary Acutt and  Sandy Gilbert (Ipswich United Services).

Both teams played great bowls and in the fast few ends the ladies from Ipswich United Services were looking for extra shots but the accurate bowling of the Algester Ladies prevented that from happening. A sporting game was witnessed by all the onlookers. Well done to Pam and Maureen.

2011 District Championship Fours:

The final of the Cunningham District Fours was contested by Sunnybank and Salisbury. Each team showed plenty of spirit and played great bowls. All players contributed to their respective teams with some wonderfully weighted shots and each end was never a given as both skips changed the head on several occasions. The experience in the Sunnybank team was the deciding factor that gave them the edge in the final ends.

Congratulations to all teams for participating and special congratulations to the winners, Sunnybank and the Runners-up, Salisbury.

Special thanks to Ipswich United Services for hosting the event and to all who assisted in making this event successful...umpires, workers, scorers and players.
