FINALS: RESULTS AND PHOTOS (See Report from Match Committee below photos)
Two great days of bowls was viewed by many at United on the days of the semi and finals.
Division 1 was won by Darra and to their credit they played the better bowls. Darra jumped out to a very good margin in the first 5 or 6 ends of the game. United closed the gap for a short while, but some great bowls were played by Darra and they skipped away again to a 20 shot margin. United came back in the last 4 or 5 ends to trail by 11 shots over all. Well don and congratulations. Good luck in the zone playoff towards the end on September.
Division 2 was won by Algester. They defeated Yeronga by 19 shots. Algester won 2 rinks to 1. Scores indicate they were the better side on the day.
Division 3 was won by United over Sunnybank with a margin of 14. United and Sunnybank won 1 rink each. United won 35 to 17 on 1 rink and lost 20 to 16 on the other.
Division 4 was won by United by 15 shots. This was the first time that they defeated Algester. Good game by both sides.

ZONE PENNANT PLAY OFF: Darra-Cementco v Broadbeach
Broadbeach Club won the Ladies Pennant Zone playoff against the Cunningham representative side of Darra/Cementco.
For the first 20 ends the scores were very close and each Darra team was holding its own and proving to be a worry for the Broadbeach Ladies. A couple of high scoring wins placed Broadbeach with a good buffer over Darra. To their credit 2 teams from Darra continued to put pressure on Broadbeach and ended with 2 rink wins over Broadbeach. Broadbeach won 71 to 52 with one rink win.
Congratulations to both clubs for reaching the zone playoff. Broadbeach will contest the State Finals at Bribie Island in November.
